Established in 1983, the Holy Family Medical Research Society has been recognised by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) since 1984. The Society was founded by its Executive Director, Dr (Sr) G. Alberoni, who is also a founding member of The Bandra Holy Family Society — the charitable trust that governs the hospital and its associated independent institutions.
The Research Centre plays a vital role in strengthening the scientific foundation of the hospital. It actively contributes to the advancement of medical knowledge, supports medical students in striving for academic distinction, and provides doctors and residents with a platform to present their work to the wider scientific community. In doing so, it enriches the academic environment and enhances the quality of postgraduate teaching within the institution.
In addition, the Centre encourages junior faculty members to engage in research initiatives that broaden their professional perspectives and further refine their clinical expertise.
Guided by the enduring values of faith, integrity, service, and excellence, Holy Family Hospital remains deeply committed to preserving the dignity of every individual it serves. Through compassionate patient care, dedicated teaching, and meaningful research, the institution continues to stand as a beacon of healing, hope, and humanity.
