  3. Admission Process

Before admission to the hospital, the following steps are required:

  • Patient must present an admission note from the consultant, OPD doctor, or emergency medical officer.
  • The admission team will check bed availability and confirm the preferred bed category with the patient.
  • Patient details are verified in the hospital system to avoid duplicate registration.
  • If the patient is new, a hospital ID is generated before admission.
  • Patient/attendant fills and signs the Admission Form with all required details.
  • Government ID proof (such as Aadhaar card) is collected and attached to the patient file.
  • For foreign nationals, passport, visa/OCI copy, and photograph are required.
  • The estimated cost of treatment or surgery is explained by the Financial Counsellor.
  • Required deposit is collected as per hospital policy.
  • The patient is informed about hospital rules, patient rights, and responsibilities.

Once the admission process begins:

  • A unique Inpatient (IP) number is generated for the admission.
  • The patient or attendant signs the general consent form covering treatment, hospital policies, and financial responsibility.
  • Bed is allocated based on availability and patient preference.
  • If the preferred room is unavailable, the patient may choose a higher or lower category bed.
  • Admission staff inform the respective ward or nursing station about the patient’s admission.
  • The patient file is prepared and handed to the ward staff.
  • The patient is escorted to the ward using a wheelchair or stretcher if required.
  • Attendant or visitor passes are issued as per the room category.

After the patient is admitted:

  • The nursing team receives the patient and completes the initial ward admission process.
  • The patient’s medical records and admission forms are maintained in the hospital system.
  • Admission details are shared with relevant departments for care coordination.
  • Billing, insurance verification, or TPA approvals (if applicable) are processed.
  • Patient identification and documentation are verified for accuracy.

While the patient is admitted in the hospital:

  • The treating consultant and medical team provide ongoing medical care.
  • Patients may be transferred to another ward or ICU if medically required.
  • Room upgrade or downgrade requests can be made based on bed availability.
  • The hospital maintains continuous monitoring and documentation of treatment.
  • Hospital staff ensure patient safety, comfort, and timely medical support.

Visitor access is regulated to ensure patient safety and comfort:

  • Suite, Deluxe & Private Ac Plus : Two visitor passes allowed.
  • Other room categories: One visitor pass allowed.
  • General ward: Visitor passes are generally not issued.
  • Visitor passes are issued by the nursing station.
  • A ₹500 deposit may be charged for visitor passes and forfeited if lost or not returned.
  • Visitors must follow hospital visiting hours and maintain hygiene and discipline inside patient areas.
